Drinking water is obviously imperative to life, but what are the effects of not having ENOUGH water. Would our bodies really function better? Would we really have more energy and think more clearly? Can SUFFICIENT water really make that much of a difference? That's with the physical, mental, and emotional. What about that Living Water? Jesus said, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life.
"Drink ya water. Do ya squats", words to live by right? I think almost everyone (including me) underestimates the actual effects of not drinking enough water.
Has anyone asked recently how much water you drink a day? I think it's common to give the answer that seems right. We respond, "I try to drink about a gallon". Would it be safe to say we have no idea. Do we actually monitor and track our water intake? I know it's yet another thing to have to think about, but do you realize that being even mildly dehydrated inhibits your ability to think clearly, it causes sluggish body functions, and can make you sleepy and moody.

What is this Living Water I mentioned?
Have you ever been at the ocean and see the Red flag posted, and you see those waves crashing? If you're anything like me, everything inside you says, "That looks awesome. I can totally fight those waves. I'm getting in that to see if I can stand without being knocked down!" It almost always takes me down....and this is just a weak little comparison. God's love is so much stronger, bigger, more resilient, more powerful, and amazing.
Without using a definition or Bible verse to explain, the Living Water that Jesus offers us is the never-ending, unconditional, consuming Love of God. I could be theologically way off, but I think of the lyrics to the song, "Reckless Love". Check it out. Well worth the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xx0d3R2LoU
Lyrics:
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the 99
I couldn't earn it, I don't deserve it, still You give yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God
The effects of being even slightly dehydrated from Living Water
When the body is deprived of water it doesn't function well right? We get weak and we get tired. Simply put, our body just doesn't live up to what it was designed to do. Our spirit is no different. Not to sound flaky or nutty, but we are body and spirit. If we don't have the Living Water often, at least daily, it will be sluggish, weak, tired, and ultimately we won't live up to our designed intent.
When we are connected to the Holy Spirit ( the Living Water) we "feel" great. Our body can perform well. We'd be capable of not just loving those we like, but even love our enemies. Loving our enemies requires a lot. We don't have that ability in ourselves, we need to be "full".
When we're in step with the Holy Spirit, we are enabled to live the life He called us to. We can : Love. Serve. Point. We can make it through life and win the battles we would normally lose fighting on our own.
My Reason for Needing Living Water
To be what He has called me to be can be summed up from Galatians 5:22, " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
These are not attributes that come from and out of me naturally. I need Jesus! LOL. I need the Living Water to continually flow through me. I need to be renewed, often.
We all need Him. We all have a purpose.
Live for More.
