Why would anyone need a personal trainer? A fitness instructor? A nutrition coach?
The last time I tried to work on my car, it took waaaaay too long, it was very frustrating, and it was just difficult. I watched a ton of YouTube videos, contemplated over and over whether or not what I was doing would be safe or cause even more problems. At the end of the day, I ended up calling my father-in-law anyway. He has been a master mechanic for over 30 years by the way.
My point? It's less frustrating, more efficient, and sooo much easier to have guidance, to have a mentor, or to have someone train you and help you toward your goals.
Training is not just something I love, it is what I am called to do. I love people. I love helping people. God even called us to love others. We were built for relationships.
There are few things as rewarding as seeing someone make changes in their life and know you took part in that.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it." Deut. 11:19
I'm not one to just throw out Bible verses and just mold and manipulate them into what I want them to be. There is so much inside of that verse to read into. Of course we are suppose to raise our kids up to know God, to love Jesus, and to follow His ways.
I don't know about you, but I also want my children to grow up and be model citizens, to be trainable and productive in the work place. I want them to be healthy, to be strong, to be disciplined. I'm raising 4 daughters. That is my biggest ministry, that and my marriage first. I am determined to be a great husband, a great father, a great coach to my kids.
I want my girls to be healthy, to be fit, to be STRONG. Everyone should be physically and mentally able to seek out adventure and live an exciting life.
A personal trainer is more than just an instructor. It's a relationship.
Back to the car story. My father-in-law is an awesome mechanic. He can fix anything. Time for a quick story. Let's just say, what if a stray cat was unknowingly shut up in your vehicle for an entire night. You went to your car and found that almost ALL of your cloth seats were torn to shreds.
Would I call my master mechanic father-in-law for that too?? Would he be the best fix for my issue? Why not, he works on cars, right? I just said he can fix almost anything. My point is this.....
A personal trainer is: A coach. A nutrition guide. A weight lifting instructor. An accountability partner. A motivator.
A personal trainer should be someone who is knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about changing lives through fitness and nutrition. Everything comes back to the CLIENT and THEIR goal, not pushing the agenda as a trainer. At Rise Up Training, I am not just providing mindless workouts and boring meal plans. I am giving you RESULTS! Great stuff! Couldn’t agree more on the multiple roles of a trainer and love how you related it to fatherhood and the mechanic. I know a trainer would be a huge value in my life, with the relationship being the best part.
