Rented - Never Owned

Owning something is far better than renting or leasing. I think we can all agree with that. Would you also agree that few things can be OWNED and not need some sort of maintenance or attention?

Can we also agree that anything worth having is worth working or fighting for?

Few things in life are easy and even less are free.

The rules are pretty straightforward though.

Go to work = Get paid.

Workout = Get fit.

Eat healthy = Feel your best.

Health and Fitness are Rented

You can't "own" a healthy body, strength, speed, agility, or youthfulness. It's impossible. It requires upkeep. We require maintenance. Health and fitness demand attention and effort. Commitment and consistency on some level is a necessity.

It's common to make progress with our health goals, and then get complacent, content, or busy. It's easy to think, I'm not going to make consistently good choices with food. I'm not going to prioritize 10k steps a day. 2 days a week at the gym is just fine instead of 4.

None of these things are bad. There will always be seasons of life that are busier, more challenging, or taxing than others. Life is seasonal: busy, easy, hard, joyful, emotional, etc. That's ok.

Our health and our bodies require daily attention. It's a lifestyle that you build, create, trial and error, and recommit to constantly.

Do I have to go to work?

Perfect example: We've all said it, " I do not want to go to work today."

It happens, right? Maybe we lay out. Maybe we miss an occasional day. We have PTO, and if you're a real bad-boy, you might even take a point....OOHHHH!!!

But what happens when you miss all the time?

Will you still have a job?

Will you still receive income?

The BIG ONE: will you be able to provide for your family?

Spirit-led, Faith-filled living!

I can't OWN my faith? I have to RENT that too?

The single most important relationship and priority in our life is one with Jesus. Notice I said relationship. Relationship is a 2-way street. It requires communication, effort, commitment.

God wants our heart. He wants our lives. He gave His all.

Romans 12: 1-2

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

I still do!

Marriage is worth fighting for.

Marriage is NOT going to always be easy. It's NOT always give and take. Sometimes it's give and give. You don't get to OWN a great marriage. Just like health, fitness, a relationship with the Holy Spirit, you pay rent. You have to work, day in and day out.

Are you catching the trend here? Anything worth having is worth fighting for. Rent is due. Every single day.

Live life God's way : Be blessed and joyful

Work : Get paid

Workout : Get fit

Eat healthy : Feel great

Serve your spouse : Receive love and respect

Work hard : Get results

Be consistent : Keep em
