Even when it's hard!

FITNESS ISN’T JUST A CATALYST - IT’S A HEDGE

I talk often about how fitness is a catalyst for positive change. You start training, and soon, you’re eating better, sleeping better, and becoming more disciplined in other areas of your life. That ripple effect is real, and I’ve seen it happen time and time again in our community.

But lately, I’ve realized something even deeper:

Fitness doesn’t just spark change - it helps you withstand life’s challenges.

When you grow stronger physically, you’re also growing stronger mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You create a hedge - a buffer that allows you to face adversity with resilience.

Proverbs 24:10 says, “If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! The reality is, life will bring trials. There will be hardships we don’t expect, battles we don’t choose, and seasons that feel overwhelming. But when we prepare - when we build ourselves up , we’re not so easily shaken.

I've experienced this firsthand. Over the past decade, I've walked through challenges I never saw coming. Fitness didn't remove those struggles, but it equipped me to face them head-on. The discipline, endurance, and resilience built in training carried over into the hardest moments of my life.

Are you building that kind of strength?

In Luke 6:48, Jesus describes the wise person as someone who builds their house on the rock so that when storms come, they stand firm. That’s what we’re doing here. We train, not just for how we want to look, but for the kind of person we’re becoming. We show up, not just for ourselves, but for those who depend on us.

This week, I want to encourage you:

-Keep showing up, even when it’s hard.

-Keep pushing forward, even when progress feels slow.

-Keep strengthening your body and mind, knowing that you are preparing for more than just today.

Your effort is not wasted. Your growth matters. And through it all, God is shaping you into someone who can stand firm no matter what life throws your way.

At Rise Up, our mission is to help you build that hedge. Every workout, every challenge, and every encouragement is meant to equip you - not just physically, but in every area of life.

Stay strong. Stay faithful. Keep rising up.
